Financial Support
Research is an important part of your medical education, helping you develop a curious, evidence-based approach to patient care.
The USC School of Medicine Greenville is committed to supporting your research journey. Most students participating in SOARinG receive a research stipend. Additional support includes free poster printing for research presentations and travel awards to help offset the cost of presenting at regional and national conferences.
The USC School of Medicine Greenville supports students conducting research between their M1 and M2 years through the SOARinG Program. Participants receive a research stipend, made possible through funding from academic departments, the Office of the Dean, and faculty research grants spanning biomedical and clinical research. In recent years, all eligible students have received funding to support their summer research experience.
The School of Medicine Greenville reimburses the costs for 20 to 50 students per year
to participate in and present at national and international conferences.
