The Patient Engagement Studio provides a structured opportunity for patients, community stakeholders, physicians, and academic researchers to collaborate in planning, conducting and disseminating research results and health system innovations.
- The studio began in February of 2016, and to date have reviewed over 80 projects, including the NIH RO1 CRADEL study (R01HD082311).
- The studio is a recipient of a PCORI Tier A grant in 2017-2018 which created 2 patient engagement studios, one urban and one rural, with a focus on creating research capacity for patients with diabetes.
- PES received a PCORI Eugene Washington Engagement Award for a project entitled VIrtual Patient engagement (VIP) Studio: Using technology to engage hard-to-reach patients which began June 1, 2020.
