Tuition & Fees

To help you prepare for the cost of attending graduate school at the Arnold School of Public Health, we have provided a tuition and fees chart. For more detailed information about fees, visit the USC Fee Schedule at the Bursar's Office website. In case of inconsistency between this page and the Bursar’s fee schedule, the Bursar’s Office is the final authority. (The information below is current as of fall 2026 and is subject to change each academic year.) The Office of Financial Aid provides the full breakdown of the estimated cost to attend.

* The Bursar’s Office considers a student enrolled in 12 hours or more to be full-time for fee purposes. However, The Graduate School considers a student enrolled in nine hours or more (six with a Graduate Assistantship) to be academically full-time.

** In the Arnold School of Public Health, the Health Professions Program Fee revenue is used to support undergraduate and graduate student services, professional advisement services, student travel for professional development, and a portion of annual School and degree accreditation costs.

*** The Technology Fee revenue is used to support staff and technology maintenance and upgrades in the ASPH computing laboratory, provide technology and staffing for uninterrupted Wi-Fi access in ASPH buildings, and for the purchase/upgrades of course software site-licenses for ASPH instruction.

* In the Health Services Policy and Management graduate program, the Enrichment Fee is used to support CAHME accreditation of the MHA program, purchase/upgrades of computers for use by graduate students in the department, procurement of computer software specific to HSPM, and expenses related to the development and monitoring of student residencies and graduate assistantships in multiple local health care organizations.

Graduate Assistantships

Students who are awarded a graduate assistantship are charged the in-state tuition rate and may also be awarded a tuition supplement from the department.

The Bursar’s Office considers a student enrolled in 12 hours or more to be full-time for fee purposes. However, The Graduate School considers a student enrolled in nine hours or more (six with a Graduate Assistantship) to be academically full-time.

One-Time Required Fees

Matriculation Fee	$80	A non-refundable matriculation fee of $80 is assessed to all degree-seeking students on a one-time basis. This fee is also assessed each time a student changes the degree sought.

Enrichment Fees

Students enrolling in some graduate programs in the Arnold School of Public Health are assessed a non-refundable, one-time enrichment fee.

* In the Athletic Training program, the Enrichment Fee is used to support summer orientation and pre-semester clinical supervision by faculty, specialist content-area support for lecturers during orientation, graston training and supplies, and supplies for advanced medical training.

** In the Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate program, the Enrichment Fee is used to support ASHA accreditation of the MS degree in speech-language pathology, provide malpractice and liability insurance for students in their clinical practica, secure student-use computers per federal HIPAA requirements, develop/update clinical simulation videos for clinical training, and defray costs associated with secure online testing.

Health Insurance Fee (optional, if waiver provided)
Enrollment in the University-sponsored health insurance plan is mandatory for graduate assistants, international students and graduate students who take six credit hours or more unless they present evidence of satisfactory alternative health coverage. Students enrolled in less than six credit hours are eligible to purchase the University-sponsored health insurance plan, but enrollment is not required. If a student chooses not to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan, they will need to complete a waiver form via the Thompson Student Health Center.
