Biography
Ashley has taught courses that focus on positive behavior supports, foundations of disability, instructional strategies for students with moderate to severe disabilities, and seminars for student teaching internships. Her primary research interests include implementing positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) across tiers, supporting students who demonstrate persistent and pervasive contextually inappropriate behaviors, and coaching and training teachers to implement equitable evidence-based practices. Before working in higher education, Ashley taught special education in self-contained and inclusive early childhood and elementary settings in Tennessee and Connecticut.
