Geography master's student is lead author

Pengyu Chen has published his first first-author article in the International Journal of Remote Sensing (IJRS). The article, "A GAN-Enhanced Deep Learning Framework for Rooftop Detection from Historical Aerial Imagery," co-authored with Dr. Susan Wang and Dr. Sicheng Wang, examines the use of image preprocessing methods based on Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to improve the information extracted from 1970s-era aerial photographs of Charleston, SC.
