Alicia Bervine is the Executive Director of Human Resources for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support at the University of South Carolina, supporting a diverse workforce of over 500 full-time employees, 300 temporary employees, and 2,000 students. In this role, she serves as an business partner to senior leadership and unit directors providing strategic and tactical guidance ensuring that the Human Resources Department evolves beyond compliance to meet the demands of a competitive and dynamic work environment. Alicia is deeply committed to driving cultural transformation and fostering a high-trust organizational culture.

Tamila serves as the divisional point of contact for research and best practices for unit leaders to enhance efficiency and demonstrate excellence in people management, including base salary and additional pay. Tam is responsible for position management and creating a consistent framework to ensure unit leaders are managing and maintaining accurate and up to date position descriptions, ensuring the positions are aligned correctly with the university job structure and compensation strategy. She directly manages the service coordinators to ensure ticketing requests for positions maintain alignment with the university goals and the units within the division are getting their ticketing request filled.

Elizabeth serves as a strategic partner who ensures division alignment with university human resources practices. Will research and ensure best practices are utilized by unit leaders to enhance efficiency and demonstrate excellence in student services. Responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment by developing, implementing, and overseeing employee relations strategies in coordination with DHR Employee Relations. The Director of Employee Relations for the division will be involved in resolving workplace conflicts, promoting open communication, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and contributing to the overall well-being of the organization’s workforce.

This role ensures compliance with employment eligibility protocols such as I-9 and E-Verify, and serves as the Division's expert in these areas. The manager delivers student hiring best practices, trains supervisors, facilitates a university-wide student onboarding workshop, and collaborates with HR partners to address timesheet issues. Additionally, the position serves on the student advisory board and partners with campus units to enhance student learning and inclusion.
