Leadership and Service Center

Peer Leadership

Peer leaders through the Leadership and Service Center are student volunteers who give back to their communities while growing as leaders, teammates, mentors, and changemakers. At the University of South Carolina, peer leadership is more than a role – it’s a commitment to service, mentorship, and building a stronger Gamecock campus and community.

What is a Peer Leader?

Peer Leaders are student volunteers who serve in a variety of leadership roles across the Leadership and Service Center. These positions provide invaluable benefits, including:

  • Building leadership and teamwork skills
  • Making a meaningful impact on campus and local communities
  • Growth of professional network
  • Practicing real-world planning, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Being involved with a community of service-driven student leaders

Being a peer leader has helped me find my purpose at USC. I gained confidence, made lifelong friendships, and learned to lead with empathy.

- Kiki (current LSC Peer Leader)
