Need help creating your signature in Outlook?

PART 1 - Create your new signature:

  1. Save the first-gen graphic to your computer.
  2. Use USC's Email Signature Generator to draft your new signature.
  3. Copy and paste the new signature draft into a Word document.
  4. Add your first-gen graphic to the bottom of your signature, and resize the graphic by dragging it from one of the corner points.
  5. Give the graphic an alt text description in the image settings ("I am a first-gen supporter")
  6. Save your Word doc in case you want to quickly update your signature in the future—and keep it handy for Part 2.

PART 2 - Add and save your new signature to Outlook:

  1. Open Outlook and select Settings -> Accounts -> Signatures
  2. If you have more than one account added to Outlook, select the account you want to apply your email signature to.
  3. Select Add signature, then give your new signature a name.
  4. In the editing box below the new name, copy and paste your new signature from your Word doc.
  5. Use the checkboxes at the bottom to choose whether to apply the signature to new messages and to replies and forwards. Or leave them blank and add the signature you want when composing a message.
  6. Select Save when you're done.
