Construction began on the new Health Sciences Campus in early 2025 and will be the home of School of Medicine Columbia. The state-of-the-art facility will host 300,000 square feet of classrooms, clinical simulation spaces, an ultrasound lab and a Rising Roll Cafe.
USC is partnering with Gilbane, which is leading the planning, design, development and construction. Other key partners include: lead design architect The SLAM Collaborative (Atlanta and Glastonbury, Connecticut), Columbia-based architect BOUDREAUX, operations Manager Honeywell (Wabash, Indiana) and minority-owned business Brownstone Design and Construction Group out of Columbia. Restoration 52 — a development consultant and minority- and women-owned business based in Greenville — is also helping throughout the process.
