Introduction to Art
This asynchronous online course provides an overview of visual arts from Western history to contemporary society. Students will explore art movements in Western art through class lectures, art creation, and a virtual museum trip. No prerequisite is required. Students will work at different times from different locations and will not be required to attend any face-to-face meetings.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:
- Students can articulate key terminology for elements of art and principles of design.
- Students can explain artistic movements from the classical era to contemporary society.
- Students can analyze how artworks respond to specific themes, cultures, and periods of time.
- Students can create artworks that resemble the art styles of artistic movements.
